Prayers

-One-

Dear God in the heavens, we humbly ask before your presence:

That we may find that corner-piece of our life’s puzzle

May you heal our wounds of flesh and soul.

And carry us into the future in your arms of love and compassion.

Please plant in us the mustard seed of love, nourish our soil with the flesh of Jesus Christ, and let the water of the Holy Spirit keep us strong so that we may be a gift to others as beautiful as the sight of the first spring flower.

All-powerful creator: keeper of time, designer of endless creation. We are humbly gathered to pronounce your name and express our love and gratitude for all that we see and hear, including that which we do not.

Please, dear Lord, may your Holy Spirit show us the path of your will and let us proclaim your unbound graciousness bestowed upon us in joy and in sorrow. May we proclaim your magnificence in times of need: and in times of plenty. May we seek you in times of health: and that of sickness. May we glorify your name when we’re alone: and in great company. For in times of warmth and rest, yet in those of cold and toil you are with us. May we exalt your name up in the heavens and low in the earth. For only you dear protector can make our times as one. We seek you now and forever, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior…..Amen

-Three-

Dear Lord and un-ending giver of life. Let your holy spirit show us the path. May we live by the rules of your love; May we see the fruits of compassion. Let your holy spirit move our steps and leave imprints for others to find. For you, O’ generous lover, imbibe us with an unspeakable flood of love. We see it in the grass and the flowers, the ants and the trees. Through Spring, and Autumn, you care for us. For all are your children. Some astray, some found, some in you. But all yours: dear Lord. We pray in the name of your only sacrificial lamb and our savior Jesus Christ…Amen

How can I understand the wonders of an essence that cannot be understood? How can my humanity comprehend the maze of tangled lives enduring creation? For each understands what is in them that makes them whole. How do I understand a life two thousand times removed? From here to there yields but a trip only the first step is infinite. And in lifting my foot I see the placement of a new world in a changing light of eternity. Only in desperation can we see our imperfections. In joy perfection reigns and no change allowed. Our truth shaped by what we saw, see, and think for tomorrow. Yet other’s truths are shaping mine own. Nature too is mingled in this mystery of my tomorrow. The dawn of a new day, or a woodpecker that curiously digs for abode. Did it rain or snow? Maybe the sun shines. But how can I escape the beauty that makes it all. For in all there is only one essence. And in this essence we all cohabit. No thing is too small, too big, or too inorganic to escape it. See it, feel it, live it. It is God wherever my perceptive senses take me. Be aware. Be grateful.

Dear Heavenly Father. You are the eternal creator of this universe. You give us life, choices, and all that is known to us. We are but a grain of sand in your omnipotent presence, yet you make us stand out. We are but a speck of dust, yet you lift our soul towards your greater glory. We are but a blink of an eye, but you see our needs, trials, and tribulations. You understand us better then we understand ourselves. We are weak, oh Lord, yet your strength comforts us to be greater then our normal humanity can imagine. For all these manifestations of your unswerving love, oh Lord, we can only humbly thank you. Please, let your Holy Spirit guides us to see the every-day wonders of your glory. And let us always choose the path, in those forks on our daily road of life, that will exalt your glorious name, o Father. May the fruits of our actions engulf this world in sweetness. Let them not decay to be thrown out by those behind us. We ask, oh Lord, to know you more everyday, and to be like your son that unselfishly gave his life for us. Through his name we approach you and pray…..Amen.

Within the shadows of my thoughts arose a vision of a scene. A place so vast and so serene made time eternal seem to stop. No more despair and no more fear to lose all that I endear. Without regret for seasons past, I journey down the rocky, dusty narrow path. My cuts and scrapes along the way let me know that I’m alive. The trips and falls rejoice my mind as I arise with one more scrape and yet more wise.

Heavenly and most precious Father, we thank you for all our experiences and skills. We thank you for our times of sorrow, for it is then that we get closer to you. We thank you for our times of joy because we realize you exist in our answered prayers. Heavenly Father, please guide us through your Holy Spirit and give us the strength and fortitude to repay wickedness with love and compassion. For we do not know what is in the hearts of those that harm us. But we know you love them and you love us. Help us get closer to you Oh Lord. This we pray, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior….Amen.
