Our Speakers
Bob Buchanon— Bob
was converted to the Lord while in college and immediately began preaching.
He has preached for over 30 years in Kentucky and Indiana but the last
six years has devoted himself almost exclusively to foreign evangelism.
Max Dawson— Max
began preaching in 1970 in Noblesville, IN.
Since 1978 he has been with the Dowlen Road Church of Christ in Beaumont,
TX. He has served as a shepherd
since 1986. He has made four
extended trips to Africa to train young preachers.
Max did ten years of daily Bible talk radio work (1979-1989).
Jason Moore—
Jason’s preaching experience includes word with Harold Comer in a training
program at the Jackson Heights church in Columbia, TN.
He has also worked with Dee Bowman at the Southside church in Pasadena,
TX and remained as a local evangelist for eleven years.
Later, he moved to the Vestavia church in Birmingham, AL and since
October of 2007 he has worked with the Livingston Avenue church in Lutz, FL.
He married his wife, Jennifer, in 1991.
Westley Pollard— Wesley
was converted in 1986. He grew in
faith and service to the Lord and His cause.
He shared the gospel successfully with his family and many others.
Two of his sons now serve as deacons.
Wesley averages at least three Bible studies a week.
He also serves as a shepherd with the Dowlen Road Church of Christ in
Beaumont, TX.
Ken Weliever— Ken began
preaching when he was 15 years old and has labored with churches in Ohio,
Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida. He
has written and spoken extensively on the subjects of evangelism and family
life.
Norma Weliever— Norma is
a native of Central Florida and has been married to Ken Weliever for 39 years.
At present, she works as Administrative Assistant for the Development
Office of Florida College. She has
taught children’s and ladies’ Bible classes for a number of years.
She is a mother of two married children.
Colin Williamson— Colin
works with the Central church here in Ocala and has done so for forty years.
He has a deep interest in reaching lost souls and studies of church
growth and evangelism.
Trudy Yancey— Trudy
is a modern version of Lydia. She is
a dedicated Christian who built and manages a large successful business.
She is wife to Wayne Yancey (a shepherd from the Central church), mother
of ten children and grandmother of four. She
has lived her life in service to others and is greatly concerned about the souls
of others.

Equipping The Saints 2007
Central initiated service teams in 2007. There may be more than 10 such teams with sub-teams as needed. Each team is to have one or more leaders and all members are encouraged to be active. The reasons for the service teams include:
More effectively organize the work of the local congregation
Involve more of the members of the congregation in the work
Use the strengths and the interests of the members in the work.
Develop more leaders within the congregation.
Allow the members to feel more a part of the work of the congregation.
Allow the elders to be more involved in the spiritual needs of the congregation.

30 days of spiritual growth
September 2007 was a month dedicated to daily efforts to improve our spiritual focus. Each day during September Christians at Central will be undertaking a special action to bring us toward a life full of good deeds. It starts with a more complete understanding of Titus 2:14 "who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds."
